This center based program for adults with moderate and mild mental retardation service of the Home and Community - Based Waiver, is designed to provide each participant with Community based activities of his or her choice that encourage independence, individualization, integration and productivity.
Participants choose community work-sites on a daily basis at which they volunteer and simultaneously focus on their individual goals/valued outcomes. Sites include retail outlets, hospitals, nursing homes, senior centers, day care centers, schools and churches.
One day a week, the participants engage in recreational activities such as parties and outings to zoos, amusement parks, museums, botanical gardens, movies and theatrical performances.
On an as-need basis, clinical services are procured from GEC's Boehm Clinic, including nursing, nutritional guidance, speech and physical therapies and psychological counseling,
